FANUC America Recognizes Quest Industrial’s Robotic Packaging Innovations with Three Robotics Engineering and Sales Support Awards

Sep 23, 2019

MONROE, Wisconsin, September 23, 2019 – Quest Industrial received three awards for its robotic engineering and sales support from FANUC America at the 2019 FANUC Authorized System Integrator Conference. FANUC is a leading industry supplier of robots, CNC systems and factory automation. The three awards Quest received included:

  • Intelligent Robotics Award recognizes sales leadership of intelligent products including Vision, Force and Learning Vibration Control (LVC).
  • Growth Award recognizes outstanding growth of robot sales from 2017 to 2018.
  • Sales Leadership Awardwith 100+ Distinction recognizes an exemplary level of sales in 2018; the 100+ distinction acknowledges the achievement of integrating more than 100 FANUC robots in their automation solutions.

“We’re very honored to receive these awards from FANUC,” said Don Wickstrum, Quest founder and Vice President of Robotics Business Development. “Our relationship with FANUC has continued to strengthen over the years. Our solutions push the technological envelop. FANUC has the most advanced robotic offering, and that’s the reason we use their robots. They’ve been a great partner to us.”

Founded in 2001, Quest Industrial is a leader in the development and implementation of robotic systems, integrated vision systems, panel building and other capabilities for food, beverage, plastics, metal and packaging automation industries. As a premier robotic systems integrator, Quest’s goal is to apply their passion for robotics and engineering to help their customers operate more efficiently while reducing their costs.

Quest’s relationship with FANUC dates back nearly two decades. One of the first projects where Quest used FANUC robots was an application within the cheese industry. Since that time, Quest has integrated 100s robots in automation projects around the world.

Quest has excelled at integrating available technologies in new ways to accomplish customer packaging goals with greater accuracy and less impact to floorspace and budget. A notable example was a past project involving a customer that ran 75 different products, which included numerous changeovers throughout each shift. Quest designed a system using 2D and 3D guided vision that integrated with FANUC robots. The end result was a system that significantly reduced the machine’s overall footprint and competed at a lower price than other robotic integrator quotes.

“I think the biggest thing for Quest is that we’ve proven ourselves to be innovators in the robotics space with our designs, technology, interfaces and vision,” Wickstrum said. “When people see that innovation, it lends itself to these awards we’ve received.”

FANUC has also bestowed various design and sales awards to Quest dating back to 2010, including the Excellence in Intelligent Robotics and Robotics Innovation awards.

“What really differentiates us from our competitors is our innovation, our service and our relationship-driven model,” Wickstrum said. “I would put our talented staff up against any company in the world. We’re about building relationships with our customers, and it’s served us well for almost 20 years.”

ProMach Acquisition

In April 2019, ProMach acquired Quest Industrial as a way to strengthen its robotics integration capabilities. The addition of Wisconsin-based Quest Industrial expands ProMach’s capacity for sophisticated robotics projects, enhances ProMach’s robust robotics support competencies, and strengthens its integrated solutions capabilities for a wide range of applications.

Quest will have its Quik Pick & Pack high-speed robotic case packer and Boxed Bot robotic palletizer on display in booth No. C-3026 at PACK EXPO 2019. For more information, visit https://questindustrial.com/.
