Responsibilities

While working as an Automation Programming Engineer, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop some of the newest technology available in robotic automation. You will debug and troubleshoot robotics, PLCs and HMI programs. Quest is looking for a person who wants to develop technological skills in an effort to improve our products and services.

Employer will also accept individuals with 2 years full time working experience in related fields. A general understanding of automation and general machine shop type applications is required.
Employee should anticipate 50+ hours per week, with both long and short term travel required.

Responsibilities

Quest Industrial is currently accepting resumes for the fabrication assembly position. Previous experience is desired, however, Quest is willing to invest in training top-notch individuals. Candidates must be able to read fabrication and assembly prints, as well as, safely operate mechanical tools.

Responsibilities

An Automation Service Technician at Quest will repair and adjust electrical components controlling mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment. You will have the opportunity to solve problems with industrial controls including PLC’s, high voltage AC and DC, motors, drives, and unique equipment. With Quest you will be able to help develop new products and troubleshoot issues with existing equipment.

  • Experience with modern field wiring practices including NEC/NFPA in addition to conduit and cable management for industrial equipment
  • Organization skills for proper shop management including but not limited to: sweeping, cleaning, and maintaining building and equipment
  • Certified welder is a plus
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Basic robotic programming experience
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and customer oriented environment

  • Develop electrical and controls system design solutions based on engineering principles and involvement in presentation of the solution to customer.
  • Provide technical support to external and internal customers.
  • Resolve operational problems related to projects and minimize delays or unexpected cost increases.
  • Responsible for project success whether project leader or as part of a project team.
  • Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.
  • Support sales team in pre-sales technical concept and budgeting activities.
  • Interpret client requirements, identify and address design parameters and engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented accurately and within budget

A minimum (2-year degree) in Electrical Engineering, Process Controls, Programming or Industrial Controls. Employer will also accept individuals with 2 years full time working experience in related fields.

A general understanding of automation, including but not limited to: high-speed assembly machinery, SCADA / Gantry / Six-Axis Robotics, and general automation technology, including the programming elements to create such automation. Possess strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications and Responsibilities

  • BS or AS in mechanical engineering/mechanical design/industrial automation or comparable program. Will also consider individuals with 7+ years of relevant experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
  • Experience in machine design and mechanical design considerations involved with robotics
  • Familiarity with electro-mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • CAD skills including Autodesk Inventor and/or Solidworks
  • Working knowledge of various fabrication methods including, basic machining, welding. Candidate does not need to be proficient in these skills, but must be aware of limitations and considerations these processes impose on mechanical design.

Employee should anticipate 50+ hours per week, with both long and short term travel required on occasion.
